The JAPANESE KNOW…

As far as whiskey goes, my regular go-to Jameson has become a bottle of water for my taste buds and my throat makes no effort of clearing itself. I can never go back after drinking Suntory’s creations. My absolute favorite drink in the world, so far, is their Hibiki. Unfortunately I havent had the pleasure of sampling the 12 year YET.  I respect the chemistry and process of this. It’s an art. 

Hibiki 12 includes malts from Yamazaki and Hakushu and grain from Chita distillery, along with whiskies from several other Japanese distilleries. It is aged in a variety of casks including ex-bourbon, ex-sherry, and casks that once held a plum liqueur.  The vatting of these whiskies is then filtered through bamboo charcoal.  This explains my love for the sweet campfire taste that I am now addicted to.

When you have the opportunity, don’t hesitate with enjoying a glass of Hibiki.
